As the Sustainability Steps Association, we aimed to draw attention to the relationship between sustainability and engineering with the Sustainability Engineers Project, which we carried out with Grundfos.
We set out together to demonstrate the role of responsible engineers in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. In the Inspiring Sectoral Meetings we organized as part of the project, we discussed the themes of climate change, energy efficiency, water management and gender equality with experts in their fields. We reached thousands of people with panels broadcast live on YouTube. With the Solutions Workshops, we worked on common themes with the young people we met in 3 different cities. We have produced solutions to problems by using creative thinking techniques with more than a hundred university students and new graduates from different disciplines. We prepared a handbook within the scope of the project in order to attract more people’s attention to the importance of the sustainability and engineering relationship. In the handbook, you can find articles on sustainability and engineering, good practice examples from the world and Turkey, our project outputs and much more.
